Starting New Journey

Days were past and we started our journey to lean how to make photographs as Ansel Adams said. This is just a beginning of it. So let us travel together, because I would like to tell others how I achieve this goal "Making Photographs"

There are things to learn as a theory such as Aperture, Shutter, ISO and about lenses & camera bodies. Then we started to take photographs. As a student I need to focus on one thing except my keen interest of macro photography and so on. So At the first day of the practices we try to have some architectural photographs on our school ground' Here are they........

Few more days in Our Journey

First day, practicing camera is little bit good with my friends. Fortunately I worked with it for a several years. So by then we got chance to practice our own. And let us to take Photographs. That's all we needed and this my opportunity to take photos inside our School. After day or two we planned to go to take photos in beach. So here are they.....

Next step in the journey with Guenter and Claudia

Now  we got another two teacher who is husband and wife. Guenter and Claudia. The were teach us about another kind of photographs. Photographs taken by Bernhard Becher and Hilla Becher (Husband and wife again =D). I would like to write about them in here.

Bernhard Becher and Hilla Becher were German conceptual artists and photographers working as a collaborative duo. They are best known for their extensive series of photographic images, or typologies, of industrial buildings and structures, often organised in grids. As the founders of what has come to be known as the ‘Becher school’ they influenced generations of documentary photographers and artists. They have been awarded the Erasmus Prize and the Hasselblad Award.
So here is our inspiration

They used to take series of architectural photographs. years of dedication. and all of them taken in Black and white era. So with same background same magnification etc. So here some of them.

So now is time to take our shots and our assignment is to take Chairs and then legs of preschool Children. So here is my work as Colored and Black and white.

Portraits

Next target is on our learning Schedule is to understand what is Portrait Photography. for that I would like to write some thing about portraits.

Portrait Photography is the art of capturing a subject in which the face, facial features as well as facial expressions are made predominant. Portrait photographers aim is to focus on the person’s face. They aim to give emphasis on the face of the person because this will also be the focus or the emphasis of the photograph. This does not mean, however, that the person’s body or even the background will no longer be included. Under portrait photography, these can still be included in the photo by the portrait photographer but again, the focus or the emphasis should be on the person’s face, facial expression and even distinct facial features.

So for that purpose we take quick idea about what is portrait photography and studied about famous Photographer Richard Avedon. Here something about him.

American photographer Richard Avedon was best known for his work in the fashion world and for his minimalist portraits. He worked first as a photographer for the Merchant Marines, taking identification photos. He then moved to fashion, shooting for Harper's Bazaar and Vogue, demanding that his models convey emotion and movement, a departure from the norm of motionless fashion photography.

Then we walk here and there to take photographs and took following Shots in the Ahungalla Area.

This is my favorite one.

finally we took some self portraits.

Tried it again at home. here is me. It's Self portrait time....
